From Buffalo, SD take Hwy 20 approximately 20 miles to Forest Road 3126. Turn right and campground will be on your left.
Good gravel road and easy to maneuver into site. Lots of pine trees. Grass around fire pit and table made it nice for eating. Site was very level. Best NF site I've been to lately. Several pit toilets around, one by us wasn't too bad, not as smelly as most of them. Great place to remember and come back to. Cell phone T-mobile 4G 2 bars but ok to connect to YouTube TV.
spent the night camping here, and then hiked up on top of one of the clay mountains protruding out of the gap. we sat on top and took photographs of the castles off in the distance. you can see all forms of crazy erosion taking place here. there are little flat plateaus down in the valley with clay river beds engulfing them all around. these photographs were taken at the beginning of November 2020
