SOUTH CAMPRGROUND 102E
Came across this area looking for some camping after out running a tornado, or 2 (end of June)...we were traveling home to Wisconsin, and were already making plans to come back for an extended weekend vacation with the kids, and other friends/family, before we even left. Our little ones are 5, 3.5, & 2 years old...this place is PERFECT for them as well!
Pet friendly, so you can bring the dog...unless you're the guy that leaves your very loud barking dog locked in the camper from 7am until noon while you were having breakfast in town, at which point, the answer is "No, Sir."
Bathrooms and showers are EXTREMELY nice. Loved picking rocks on the beach. Swimming area AWESOME. Playground is AWESOMEST...all only a short walk...
Electrical hook-up, mowed grass, good trees, picnic table, and all you need is charcoal for the grill provided. Not too close to your neighbors...unless you're the guy that leaves your very loud barking dog locked in the camper from 7am until noon while you were having breakfast in town, at which point, the answer is "You will always be too close to your neighbors, Sir."
Book ahead of time, online. Simple to do, and you know EXACTLY where you are going to be...hopefully its not 2 campers down from the guy with the dog. You rent the spot from 4pm-4pm. Not expensive...perfect budget-friendly vacation.
ABSOLUTE MUST IF YOU LIKE TO CAMP!
...unless you're the guy with the dog.
Only went here for hiking the trails, but was very impressed with the campground and bathrooms/showers. They really work hard keeping everything clean! Lots of trees and great river access
