Get away from it all when you stay under the stars. It's 1 acre or rustic land perfect for a tent, vehicle, rig or trailer. Water included. Walmart is less than 10 minutes away. I-40 is 5 min away, hwy 240 is 10 min away and I-55 is 20 min away. Its in a cul-de-sac. No public restrooms. Great for pets to roam. Laundry mat 5 min away.
Its a very narrow turn onto street.
The campsites are a little on the small side and ours had big gravel on the tent pad. Our site was on the water and it was great for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. We had sites 35, 36, and 37. Not alot of shade on those sites but they were still nice.
This is a pretty campground on the lake but if you have a 5th wheel beware. We damaged (cracked the fiberglass) on the front cap corner on the driver side coming in because of the slope of the entrance at the turn off Birchwood Pike. Many sites aren’t very level and the layouts for the pull throughs are not adequate for larger campers. On site 2 they put large landscape timbers that made it difficult to hook back up because of the angle at which they were placed. The management told us they have called TDOT repeatedly since it is their responsibility but they have not been responsive. We won’t go back because of that.
We love this campground! The staff is friendly and very helpful. It is patrolled by the local sheriff's dept. regularly. Which is great! It is very family and pet friendly. Highly recommend it!
Visited Skull Island Campground to visit friends camping there and to see this sight for ourselves. Looks like a fun place.
Location is excellent. Our lake/river view was a million$view. As I drove around I noticed practically every site wasn't level. And beware! The entrance has a bad sharp down angle. We scraped and broke some metal and fibreglass under our side door. Not their fault. The highway sits high. Their entrance is low ground. Other than the un-level site and entrance, the staff were wonderful, the sites clean, elec/water hookups were modern. Nice place overall.
