We stayed at the RV campground for Labor Day weekend. I was concerned given the past reviews, but it was excellent. The people were nice and helpful. The distillery offers a fun area and awesome mixed drinks. We didn't get to take the tour, but we met Bear the big dog and petted the goats. The store had all the basics of a marina/campground store. The campground utilities were reliable and the WiFi allowed us to watch football games (with buffering, but much less than expected). The "little houses" were a nice touch (the couple at the one next to us were debating getting an RV and we were able to offer honest answers for them). Yes, there are things that need repairs or updating, but the essentials are maintained very well. The cost was great for what it is, a relatively small but comfortable lake resort with convenient access to everything in the area.

We stayed here 7 months. We’d definitely go back. The location is off main roads but not too inconvenient. You cannot beat the views! It’s gorgeous. Kimball, Jasper, & Chattanooga within 20 minutes +/-. Having the dam close for entertainment & events is fun. The waterfront was beautiful when we first arrived but you can’t swim or fish now because of milfoil overgrowth. The pool is nice we loved that it was saltwater but it’s, unfortunately, not a nonsmoking area. You need a pass daily to swim but the office closes for lunch sometimes 2 hours so go early. Dogs run loose & stay on cables unattended, but they all seem friendly. The geese are more ornery than the dogs, ha! There’s little upkeep. If a site breaks you're moved & it’s not fixed, the grass is usually very tall. We had to get a push mower & had campers ask us to please mow their areas too. We had to replace our hoses twice because, when they did mow, they hit it with the weedeater. You go without water fairly often due to leaks. The Wi-Fi is hit or miss & there’s poor cell service so it can be frustrating if you’re staying a long time but nice if you’re on vacation. If you want quiet with beautiful views, turtles, geese, & a laidback atmosphere, it’s nice!

Enjoyed our first stay in a floating cabin. Very cozy and had everything we needed for a weekend stay. Had the best escorts to the cabin the night we arrived, Tennessee and River (the sweetest cats), and lovely morning visiters were the ducks. If you plan on staying longer and cooking meals, a cooler is highly recommended since it only has a mini fridge. Only negative is the shower stall size. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the tour, the people, the conversation, as well as the drinks at the bar. Want a relaxing getaway? This is the place. Good food options right down the road and plenty of things to do in the area without having to stay in the hustle and bustle of the city.
