This was the first campground where we need to canoe to, it was a lot of fun transporting everything we need for the night by canoe! (There are also camp sites you can walk to!) The view and the privacy of our canoe only site were incredible! We had a wonderful time enjoying the camp site, the lake view and canoeing to explore the nearby marsh.
If you ever liked the movie “moonrise kingdom” you pro will Enjoy! Canoe to your own campsite! Book in advance and score one of the islands. We were there on opening weekend of the season and all campgrounds were super clean, bathrooms completely empty, and closest Neighbour was even hard to see! Be aware of the mayflies would be my only advise, that can be a little “bugging”
Really can't say enough good things about this campground - quiet, loon-filled lake; state-run and affordable canoe rentals/firewood; beautiful woods and big bear lockers for use. Our site was pretty muddy because of some heavy rain that came through before, but we were able to handle with tarps and strategic placement. Would love to come back in the summer.
Ideal location for camping by the lake. Check before booking if you will be able to take your vehicle to the actual site or not. Some of the site location you might have to use boat to go if you don’t wanna walk thru the forest. Don’t worry if you don’t have boat as canopy is available on rent just for $20. Also firewood is available on the camp site which is little costlier. Also camp manager is available on the site always and very helpful.
Don’t miss the sunrise.
Enjoy
Super cool spot,
Canoe is 20$ a day
Firewood is 11$/bag
These spots seem like coolest
Island spot which has two campgrounds: 52
11,12,13, all seem really cool.
I was at 22 its nice and secluded and you get the sun in your face from 4 to 8
We had no bugs at all except for peski flies while we were canoeing
Great spot!
