From the Adirondack Northway (I-87), take Exit 23 at Warrensburg; take Route 9 North to Route 28 West, through Indian Lake, Blue Mountain Lake, and Raquette Lake; the park is 5 miles south of Raquette Lake on the right-hand side of Route 28.
Have been coming up here for more than 40 years, and the feel remains the same. Great Adk campground with access to 7th and 8th lake. Love the easy access to bug lake as well!
Great place for a week with fantastic hiking and kayaking.
The camp sites are all fairly level and have bathrooms relatively close. The showers are only near the main entrance. The sites do not have water or power connections, and because there is lots of tree cover solar recharging didn't work well on our puck lights.
Staff kept the bathrooms very clean, but they are tired and could use refurbishment. Road is rough but very passable.
Lake has ducks, loons, and occasional bears. Need to keep food put away and locked up.
Nice, calm campground. Great, easy access to both seventh and eighth lakes from the campsite. Water, restrooms, and warm showers on-site. Bought a big bag of firewood at check-in for $11. No complaints other than some guests not strictly adhering to quiet hours. Restrooms/showers could use a little refresh, but no issue with utility.
The campground has nice spacing between sites, and our pad on site 114 was in great shape with a great view of Seventh Lake. We enjoyed a quiet paddle in the lake with numerous places to explore. Military jets flew over each morning, which was cool to see and hear. We enjoyed a nice hike out to Bug Lake where we spotted a couple of loons. The one big negative is that the roads in the campground are in horrible shape. They are supposed to be getting paved soon. Let's hope so before someone loses a camper in one of those potholes.
