Sites are nice on the lake side... well ours was. some lakeside sites seem to be right on top of each other. Nice lake for swimming, nice to float your canoe / kayak to the Hudson river (small here). Downside was the lake seems to be DEVOID of fish. I did get one bite in 4 days. But there are no sun fish there are no baby fish in the shallows...no nothing... Closest Cell service is Long Lake 20 mins away. Sunsets were pretty. Bathrooms cleaned and pleanty of tp/soap etc. Showers were just warm. Manager / staff of camp were super friendly and helpful. Minus 1 star really for lack of fish (some would say skill - but I was pulling them in all day at long lake).
Beautiful lake, clean and neat campground! Womens bathroom was done over in knotty pine and keppt clean of bugs, spiders and cobwebs! Men's bathroom had a LOT of peeling paint. The caretaker Brenda(?) great attention to colorful gardens and staff Joya, so friendly! The lady who cleans the bathrooms, showers etc and man who wipes down the outdoor cobwebs are so greatly appreciated! We really didn't want to leave.
My favorite campground in the Adirondacks. The campsites are spacious and some have a very secluded feel. The sites are well maintained as are the bathrooms/showers. I found their COVID policies to be thorough and mask usage in public areas was pretty good as of late July 2020. There's no cell service with AT&T, but that's just the way I like it. Food and Stewart's can be found a short drive away in Long Lake. Can't wait to return!
I was there once a long time ago. It was a State Park, and Campground then. A beautiful place indeed. Rest rooms were okay, plenty of potable water. Fire pits were handy as were picnic tables at each campsites. The picnic area near the beach is an amazing place for stargazing. One moonless night there I saw trees throwing shadows by the light of the Milky Way.
