We tried 5 new campgrounds in the Adirondacks with our 30 foot camper this summer and Medcalf was by far the best weekend all summer!! Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Mike was very helpful all weekend when we needed something and was so good with all the kids in the campground. All the staff was amazing and our kids did not want to leave! We will be back next year!

We’ve been visiting friends here for the last five years and last year, decided to rent the cabin by the river. This year, we rented both cabins so family could join us for an extended stay.

It was perfect! As lovely as the scenery is, the responsiveness and friendliness of the staff and owner are better still.

Bathrooms and showers are always clean, there are lots of activities and amenities for children—including a playground and heated outdoor pool—and if you need anything, the team is a call away, by phone or walkie talkie.

If you kayak, as I do, paddling the Schroon River can be anything from a peaceful float from the nature beach to the swimming beach, a more exciting put in at the base of the falls when the water is high, or a 9 mile paddle all the way from the falls to Schroon Lake.

And we’re a short trip away from many other Adirondack ‘can’t miss’ paddling destinations.

Check out the website, and sign up for the newsletter so you don’t miss events and deals throughout the season.

Thanks for a great stay, Karl! And kudos to your unbeatable team for making s sure we’re all comfortable, welcome, and safe!

Amazing camping experience! Staff is very friendly. Sites are kept up well and bathrooms are as well. Sooo many kid’s activities and theme weekends. Went for a 4 day long weekend, it rained for most of the stay but still had a great time. Nice game room and pool for kids. Band on the weekends and lots of playground equipment! Ask the store about rentals for the river. All the campers were so nice didn’t feel like a first timer at all they were all so kind. The store is packed with all the necessities in case you forget anything. Sites are leveled and ready for camping when you arrive. Check in process was flawless and quick . You can tell how much the owner as well as staff and campers take pride in the sites at Medcalf.
