If you are okay with being inches away from the next trailer and are not afraid to be around a majority of people from Texas and this is a place for you. Conveniently located in town and near the river, this place is pretty average. A crude bathroom and showers from circa 1970s is available on site.
The hosts are beyond friendly and truly made the place feel like a home away from home.
If its you're only option, its not terrible. but its definately a lower end, run down, muddy parking lot with hookups. Much prefer the Elkhorn RV Resort for a campground in lake city.
Definitely Not the best camp ground I’ve been to honestly disappointed me and my newly wedded wife . We were trying to escape and enjoy our honeymoon but it wasn’t the best experience at this place, more of a retirement community than a campground. got a talking to from the camp host when I was trying to pack up in preparation to leave the evening before as I was trying to hook up to my trailer at 7pm . He said my truck was too noisy and that everyone at the camp ground goes light out and quiet at 630 pm even tho there is info posted that say’s quite hr is 10 pm . aside from this the bathrooms were dis functional, lights were out in the showers , toilets were broken and out of order, mold on bathroom stalls and no one managed the small store (had to leave cash on the counter not able to get change back during store hrs ! ) no privacy between sites definitely better places to stay just outside of town I wouldn’t recommend this campground to anyone .
We have stayed at MANY campgrounds and had MANY good experiences. However, we have never been anywhere like this. We were literally treated like family. The hosts went above and beyond from the very beginning, and we soon noticed they treated everyone this way. They even fed us fresh fish for supper! The bathrooms were very clean. They even have towels, laundry room, book exchange, and a covered common area with picnic tables to keep you dry. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place and the people.
