The campground stretches 0.7 miles up a mountain along North Crestone Creek. It is rustic with camping sites nestled among Aspen, Juniper, Fir and other riparian-loving trees. Because the sites are so far apart, each site has a feeling of secluded wilderness camping with few of the inconveniences. The campground is convenient to a public golf course and the interesting Town of Crestone.
In Crestone, CO, at the intersection of Galena and Alder Streets, take Alder St. north 1.3 miles to the campground.
I love this place. When the camp closes there is wild camping right next to it, making it my favorite destination of all time.
Stayed on July 2nd and it was supposed to be a one night deal, we liked the campground so much we stayed another night. Lot 8 was probably the best out of all the campsites very secluded and very quiet back off the road besides the water. Was absolutely beautiful and we plan on coming back in the future. If you're planning a trip, make sure to bring bug spray, other than that, enjoy nature. Also, the water is very fresh and great for drinking. ...we stocked up :)
We love this place, camping by a mountain stream cascading over boulders. It is quiet with easy access to hiking and the village of Crestone. Clean pit toilets.
