This is a new addition to the Thousand Trails RV family. The park is expansive and in a beautiful rural setting. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was recently upgraded altho cell phone service is weak. Two nice clubhouses with pools, hot tubs and clean restrooms. Long-term Blue Mesa members sponsor activities like card games, and billiards tournaments. There are weekly activities for kids, and a family rec center with a playground, putt putt golf, and pickleball. The park is directly across from the Blue Mesa reservoir and close to a marina. It's about 13 miles to Gunnison but we loved the serene location. We plan to return every year to this special park.

Don’t let this pictures and reviews fool you

I stayed in cabin here for 2 nights with my family and it was a nightmare. Toilet was unhygienic, it kept getting clogged

there were spider webs inside cabin, bed mattress and couch was filthy. Our bed was on the verge of breaking it was making noises even if we sat on it. we complained about it and the person on front desk in main building refused to believe us and said we have to pay 200 dollar cleaning fees plus charges for other cabin if we want to switch cabin.

Do not recommend staying here. We paid around 375 dollars and it was such a waste of money.

Agree with most of the other reviews about the campground utilities, had to go buy a longer sewer hose to reach but power and water were good. Was a little different for the check in than we were used to, the show up and pick out a site was bit different when we thought we had a space reserved. We ended up in a decent site but wish I had drove around more to look for another site, were some better ones in the trees. And still not sure how the premium sites work, we paid for one but not sure we got one. Activities in the area are plentiful and lots of things to see. Campground had a lot of nice people and was very quite. We may go back and give it another shot, but will hunt around for a better site next time.

Gunnison is gorgeous and amazing.

However, at this particular campground children are not welcome. I saw two different kids at different occasions get yelled at by other members and made the children cry and management backed up the elderly members. Further, the members made up lies about some of the kids around the campground. And still further, the management allows elderly members to do things they do not let members with families do.

We stayed at an amazing RV Site, but we had family stay in the cabin and it was horrendous. It looked like it had not been clean in ages, yet they charge typical retail prices for a nice cabin. I discovered that there is only one housekeeper for the whole campground. That is unacceptable when they have so many rentals and can clearly pay for additional housekeepers.

Again, the location is amazing so in one sense we loved it, but we tried to stay clear of the campground public areas, other than playground, whenever possible because children were not welcomed.

Beautiful location.

Very rude management.

They only want to take your $ then try to get you off the property.

Took my grandson with me. They were fine with me being in my golden years got along great at first. Grandson was sick and unseen when we arrived. He's feeling better goes out I'm watching from inside and a permanent resident I already met started yelling at him to get and hurling slurs at him. I exited they're suddenly surprised, but continue insulting grandson I informed them he is with me and they proceed to lie he wasn't were I saw him the whole time. Law called by management after story from permanent resident changes to accusations of grandson criminal mischief. Then when law arrives storyline added by management on me....

Avoid

They only want permanent ones over 65 in their world and find ways to make it happen.
