Rincon is off of Highway 50 about eight miles east of Salida. It is located at mile marker 231 between the towns of Swissvale and Howard. The exit is located on the north side on a very curvy section of the highway.
I love this campground but many may not like how it is so close to the highway. Great river access, campsites are right above the river. Great fishing, strong current.
We have stayed at this campsite twice in the last 12 months. It can get crowded, but there are plenty of campsites to choose from if you continue down the road. The first campsites are always crowded because they are next to hiking Trails.
We went in the fall to camp around the changing aspen leafs and hike to a waterfall.
We went in the summer to raft the Arkansas River.
Overall this is a Spacious campsite if you keep looking for the perfect spot. Each time we went it had a lot of people, but we were able to find a campsite to ourselves both times. We will return to this because if it’s great access to hiking and biking trails / its proximity to the Arkansas River, Brown’s Canyon, Silverton, and Buena Vista.
Me and my friends are looking for new camping. Think we have found a wonderful place. Stayed for the day. Had hamburgers and hot dogs and fished. Absolutely wonderful time
