We were looking for camping near the reservoir and struck out so we decided to go a few miles off the beaten path. We were glad we did! This campsite has big trees with shade, a creek, hiking, 4x4 access and fantastic scenery. The host was wonderful, cleaning up each site as each party left. We had a group of 7 and a few pets and there was plenty of space for 3 tents. I will definitely be back.
Bear country, no mobile service, primitive, right next to a creek, lots of OHVs, milky way visible, mountain views, shade, creek sounds at night, gorgeous views.
Nice long slow drive to camp. Views are amazing. Deer all along road side.
We took mules and stayed for the night. The corals are in great shape. It is near a river for easy access to water for the horses. There are 2 feeders that 4 horses can be tied to as well. The parking for horse trailers is nice and large so its not difficult to turn around. There are 4 stalls available. The only downside is it is not reservable so no garentee how busy it will be. Lots of wildlife in the area and the road is not too bad to pull a trailer on.
