A very clean, spacious camping ground. The lake was beautiful as well. Other campers were extremely friendly, some a little louder than others.
This campground is absolutely awesome! The campsites are large; the firepits are likewise large and well-constructed, and they include cooking grates for convenience.
The bathrooms are clean and well-maintained; the showers are also clean and the hot water works.
Most (if not all) of the campsites are on the water. This place is absolutely gorgeous and the lake itself is great for fishing - it is full of bass, perch, and walleye.
This is an awesome place to get away from it all in the heart of the Adirondacks - while still being maybe 20 minutes from I87 and stores.
Additional bonus: this campground has full cell signal and 4g LTE (Verizon). So you can get away from it all without being out of reach.
Staff here are absolutely wonderful. The manager and caretaker are absolutely fantastic as are the rest of the staff; everyone is friendly and was a great experience from a customer service perspective.
Lake Harris is absolutely awesome. I had several awesome trips this summer and am looking forward to longer ones next year now that I know about it.
I don't just throw the word awesome around. Thank you for a great season DEC/Lake Harris!! See you next year!
Campsites on water were good. Although I would caution not all are spectacular. The sites near the end (70 and beyond) have some unpleasant but tolerable issues. We were at 75, but it was actually a single driveway down to three connected sites. So we wound up getting nice and cozy with our neighbor and their five barking dogs and loud generator. But the water and the view was beautiful right from our fire pit, which made the neighbor issues, like I said tolerable. Other positives is great kayaking opportunities and proximity to fantastic hiking options.
This campsite is very good but uneven in quality of sites (as pretty much any campsite) I wasn't lucky picked probably one of the worst sites because it was my first ti.e here. The staff were doing their job in maintenance and cleaning but I don't know if they can keep up during peak season.
We stayed on site 33 at Lake Harris Campground (tent camping 🏕) and enjoyed it. The site was well maintained, with plenty of space, shade, and waterfront access to the lake.
The bathroom was clean, but be aware there are no dryers/paper towels/soap, so bring your own! 🚽🧼
Canoe & rowboat rentals are available for the day which is perfect when camping on a waterfront site. 🛶
