The most idyllic, welcoming place I’ve ever stayed! Jeff is so kind and accommodating. A great place to enjoy the mountains, eat some homemade food, and explore the area. 1000/10 would recommend to everyone!!
Hatcher pass is an amazing lodge in the middle of nature. The cabins are just enough for glamping while being in nature. The lodge has great food, service, bathrooms, showers. It’s a really great place to chat with people with great views and have amazing food and a drink after a long day of hiking and exploring. It’s a must stay stop on your Alaska adventure!
DO NOT SLEEP HERE!!!
We had a booking for two nights, and we ended up sleeping in the car on the first night and leaving the next morning. As a result, we got sick for the remainder of our trip due to having to sleep in the car. The smell in the room was so bad, that I could not stop coughing. It was late, time we had checked in and had no other option. The blinds were broken, furniture was not clean. The cabin was absolutely dirty and smelly. Carpets had not been changed in who knows how many years! There dead flies on the floor, and hair on the bathroom floor. Pictures on the website are not accurate of the conditions of the inside of cabins.
We spoke to the owner in the morning, and he did not care whatsoever. Definitely a place that just wants your money, and does not give a damn about how they treat their guests or individuals in general. The owner was not sympathetic whatsoever, and just replied 'oh ok have a good day'. Obviously, we never got a money back or a refund!
Hatcher Pass itself is lovely to visit, but definitely wouldn't recommend sleeping there!! Avoid at all costs!!
I cannot recommend this beautiful place enough! We didn’t stay because the night we were interested, it was already booked. But we stopped in at the bar and got a hot cocoa and the bartender Katelyn was amazing, friendly, and made us feel right at home. When I told her it was me and my husband’s honeymoon, she even gave me the hot cocoa on the house. Next time we’re in Alaska, we will definitely stay here.
