It is a great moderate hike. It is mostly through forest with areas that open up into alpine meadows with great views. Trail is easy to follow and in good shape. On hot days bring lots of water or a filter. Bring clothes to get wet because there is a great swimming hole at the lake. It is moderately up hill almost all the way to the lake. It is a little long for young kids or inexperienced hikers, but not difficult.
