Camping your way through Alaska? Motorcycle riders, bicyclists, backpackers and hostel users are welcome to stay with Thompson's Eagle's Claw in Tok, Alaska.
Tent camping or a site already set up, I have something for all. I offer a steam bath to relax after a hard day's ride and a workshop gives your scoot a bit of TLC. If you just need a quick freshen-up for dinner, there is a clean-up station where you can heat water to take back to your tent. I have primitive tent sites, a 4-person bunkhouse and bunkbus, and 2cabins for 2.
There are large, level sites for those bikes towing a trailer. I have just added an old ambulance that sleeps 2. If you have problems on the road, give me a call, and I will do my best to get help headed your way. Feel free to stop by for a visit even if you don't plan on staying. I have been riding for years and love to share motorcycling memories.
This is the best motorcycle camp I’ve ever been to. The host is a motorcyclist herself, the prices are great, you can wash your bike, change your oil, have your tires shipped here and change them when you arrive. They have a facility for that. You can choose a primitive camp site, or a cabin. One note, the cabins do not have power outlets. You’ll have to charge your electronics somewhere else.
This is a great campground run by a really wonderfully lady. We arrived about a week before she was planning to open for the season but she welcomed us in all the same, even apologizing that the sauna wasn't ready yet. The whole place is well thought out and there are lots of trees between campsites. She even has an old school bus with cots in it if you could use a break from your tent.
This is a wonderful place for those who like to “rough it” a little. Perfect for the motorcyclist in you. There are basic campsites with a few non-traditional lodging options (a school bus and an ambulance). There is a latrine that should work for most. There is also a sauna. For the motorcycle enthusiast, there is a workshop with almost any tool you may need to make your own repairs.
Vanessa will be your host and is most helpful in showing you here campground.
Eagle Claw is an excellent campground for motorcyclists located about 2 miles south of the intersection of HWY 2 & HWY 1 in Tok AK. The property is situated among the pines and is very quiet at night. There are fire pits at most of the sites with a couple of communal fire pits located nearby. There is an outdoor kitchen area, a wood fired sauna and a shed complete with tools and a covered work area for your bike. The cabins are cozy and there is even an Ambulance you can sleep in. If you're riding to/through Alaska this is a great place to stay.
This is an awesome campground for those of us who ride. Vanessa was extremely kind and helpful, there was almost nobody else there & she said I could have the bunkhouse overnight to myself for $20 ($20/person in it). Thankfully I took her up on that offer because it dumped rain overnight. If you're travelling around the state near Tok, I highly recommend staying here. Plenty of nice campsites with tables & chairs, fire pits, plus small cabins & even an ambulance you can rent to stay in! Will have to stay longer next time.
