Hartig Park is Gallatin County's newest recreational area. With over 500 acres of meadows, hills, & hollows, Hartig is a nature lovers dream come true.
Beautiful trails. From easy flat to difficult hills. My favorite place to unwind and enjoy nature.
I miss this place already. It is such a beautiful spot and I recommend it to anyone who just wants to get away from everything. This spot has a comforting and refreshing atmosphere. The camping is free but there is no electric or water so be prepared. There should be maps located at the front sign just before the picnic shelter if yall need it. Oh and the roads can be rough so if you've got a large vehicle, be careful. Not trying to scare yall but just a warning. I'm coming back for sure!💖💖
I went back😇
We stayed on site 1 with a 25ft trailer. We only had a two wheel drive and will never camp there again until we have a 4 wheel. Would highly recommend this place for beauty, price (free) and many well marked trails. However, the hills can be steep and it rained and we got stuck. It took another camper ‘Thank you, Diane!’ (Who we have never met before), to pull us out with her four wheel truck. Ground is made of greasy clay when it rains and many ruts.
Beautiful, well kept secret. Place has alot offer from kayaking hiking camping with horseback riding. Had a picnic right out of our vehicle. Great place for an afternoon adventure.
I enjoyed camping here and will be back to kayak. There are 2 portalets on site, a pavilion, picnic tables and fire rings, maps at 2 locations. Plenty of parking and turn-around places. The overlook of the Ohio River is pretty cool. I had good Verizon cell service. The roads were bumpy but fine to drive on.
