About Campground

The campground offers 26 RV sites and 20 tent-only sites, all with water and electric hookups and picnic table, fire pit/grill and lantern post.

Amenities include flush toilets, showers, drinking water, washer/dryer, boat ramp and a dump station.

The campground is situated above the shore of Fishing Creek on Lake Cumberland. Dense stands of mature hardwoods forest the site, offering scenic views, pleasant shade and wildlife habitat.

Because of the temperate climate and relatively long recreation season, the lake provides varied outdoor recreational opportunities for millions of visitors each year.

Directions

From Somerset, Kentucky, take Highway 80 west for 5 miles. Turn right on East Highway 1248 and continue for 2 miles. The recreation area entrance will be on the left side of the road at the bottom of the hill.

Not only is this campground adorable and mixed with tents and RVs throughout, but the older couple who runs it is absolutely amazing. We always have some kind of issue with our camper and this time, our power wouldn’t come on. Gene spent at least two hours with us and even got a fellow regular camper to come down to help us out until they figured it out together. He was absolutely determined to help us and saved our entire 4th of July weekend. We were devastated and beyond exhausted in the 90 degree heat. We were about to pack up and go home, but he helped us. He then gave my toddler and I a ride in his golf cart, to the showers. He’s such a kind soul and we will definitely be coming back regularly. Couldn’t ask for better hosts.

The lots are gravel but the layout of the campground is pretty cool. There are no lights other than what you have on your own site so need a flashlight for walking in the dark.

We rented a pontoon boat from the campground. Campground looks well maintained and quite. The boat was amazing and very clean. We enjoyed our day on the lake.

Waterfront. Fenced spaces. Clean. Affordable. Waterfront. Family Friendly. Waterfront. Clean playground fenced in. Quiet. Waterfront. Get the picture?

Beautiful waterfront campground on lake Cumberland. This is so good I almost didn’t post it, selfishly.

I would say this is more for families and the chill quiet types. There are other grounds on the lake for louder partying camps.

Stay here.

The views from our sites were great! Very quiet campground. Sites along waters edge are very close together. Must be able to keep your pet on a leash.

Stayed here this weekend!! The hosts were amazing. The facilities are well kept. The view from our site was amazing!!! The sites all seem well maintained and level. Even the primitive sites were super nice. Not very big. But has a boat ramp, beach, swimming area even though it’s not marked and a nice playground. Will definitely come back yearly.
