About Campground

Black Canyon Wimberley is the perfect spot to call home while you see it all or relax and get away from it all. Wildflowers, swimming holes, wineries, shopping, rodeos, hiking trails, BBQ and Tex-Mex… we have it all… But perhaps you simply want to unwind and enjoy our hill country views. The property is very private and safe. Our manager resides less than five minutes away, should you need anything at all.

Our two-bedroom cottages boast modern farmhouse elegance.

They are new, simple, crisp, and clean. You will hardly notice our luxury furnishings, adorable full kitchen, fireplace, WiFi, and cable TV, as you will be watching the sunset from your front porch rocking chair.

Our exclusive boutique RV Park has only seven spaces.

We offer privacy, full hookups, 60ft sites, WiFi, picnic tables, fire pits, nature trail, and a beautiful, natural setting. Our park is clean, quiet, and 5 minutes from the middle of town! We do not have restrooms or laundry facilities.

We loved staying at BCW! Sites we're clean & groomed. The proximity to downtown Wimberly, breweries & wineries were perfect. Our truck & 38 foot rv fit in our space with no problem at all. The site numbers are located at each site at the power connection box. It's small, but there. We look forward to staying there again! IMPORTANT: During our stay, we drove our truck down River Road & 1492 to go to Wimberly Glassworks, which was fantastic. Wow, you definitely need to follow BCW directions on arriving as there is no way you could get an RV through there. Enjoy!!

Small RV park with great service. Wifi was strong and amenities were all clean and working great. Perfect spot to relax. We rode the hill country on our Harley. Visited the wineries and rum/vodka distilleries. Wimberley is a fantastic town. We loved it so much we added a night.

We booked the cabin trio for a trip with three families who all have young kids.

Pros:

- Responsive host

-Excellent view of scenic hill country from the back porch of each cabin.

-Smart cabin layout provides enough room for adults and multiple children

-Well stocked

-Centrally located 5 minutes from downtown Wimberly

Cons:

-The area is still being renovated and built-up with new cabins, so the grounds were not done.

We stayed at Black Canyon Wimberley from December 23, 2023 – January 14, 2024. Nestled just 5 minutes from the heart of Wimberley, this small quiet park provided the perfect blend of convenience and serenity.

We were in site 4, a gravel pull-through with full hookups. The site was just long and wide enough to fit our 5th wheel, truck, and car. They do have a parking space for a couple of vehicles, but at the time we arrived it was taken, so we crammed all the vehicles in our spot.

The park has minimal amenities like Wi-Fi, a small grass area to take your pets, and a nature trail. They do offer firepits and picnic tables in a few spots. We had a site that didn’t have either. The website mentioned a pool, but we never saw it. The park was clean and quiet, creating a peaceful environment throughout our stay.

The absence of restrooms and laundry facilities did pose a small challenge as we were there for an extended time, but we knew it would be worth trying to live without, due to the location. They do not offer monthly rates, as most people don’t stay long at this park, we had several different neighbors throughout our stay.

Proximity to the town center is a notable advantage. Being just a 5-minute drive away, we could easily explore the local attractions, charming shops, and the unique culture that Wimberley has to offer.

If you are looking for a simple and quiet getaway to explore the charming Wimberley, this is an average place to stay.
