Nice park right on the Guadalupe River. It has great river access and a nice pool. The staff was very friendly at check in. This was our first visit and we arrived after hours. We drove right past the entrance because the sign says keep right so we assumed there was another entrance for RV’s. The sites where a little confusing until I realized they are all “buddy style”. So your back to back and face to face with your neighbors. Luckily we knew our facing neighbor. The site we were in was very unleveled and we had to hook back up to pull up on blocks. The park is all gravel so it’s very dusty. None of these are bad things really, as long as you know what your getting. I’d say it’s probably a little pricey considering those factors. Overall we had a great time and will visit again.
This place is AMAZING!! However, I'm giving it only 3 stars because of one of their employees named Afton.
We (my family reunion of about 20 people) were all having a nice day swimming and hanging out down by the river when, out of nowhere a drunk lady walked right passed me and started disciplining MY kid (16 year old son) for allegedly throwing rocks at the ducks swimming by. I politely spoke up and let her know that she needed to speak to ME not my son, which by the way he was not doing what she was accusing him of because I was sitting next to him. She repeatedly ignored me like I wasn't even there and kept yelling at my son. By that time my entire family was trying to get her to stop yelling at my son but she still continued. FINALLY, I got her to talk to me and she started threatening to get all of us kicked out of the park because she knew someone (Afton) that worked there. She had 2 or 3 people with her that were also repeatedly telling her to calm down.
Not long after they left Afton came down and spoke to me and my family. When I tried to explain to her what happened she literally stuck her finger in my face and told me that she wasn't interested in what I had to say and that she was going to talk first. She basically threatened to kick us all out if we didn't "Stop harassing the guests." That was the part I didn't understand because we were not the ones who started this whole mess. We were all just trying to have a good day on the river when her friend, the drunk lady, walked over and approached my son.
Other than that the park itself was great! The live band on Saturday night were awesome and played 60's, 70's & 80's rock.
The view was absolutely GORGEOUS from our balcony. I didn't really like the fact that we had to bring our own kitchen utensils since we paid so much for the place. Also, we brought 2 extra people with us that decided to come several months after we booked and they wanted to charge us $250 more for our 4 night stay. That's after we had already paid over $1,700.
The cabin itself was 2 story's but incredibly small. It fit literally 8 people exactly with no room for even a small air mattress.
Despite the very unprofessional and rude manager we would absolutely stay here again :)
Great RV park. Can't speak about the cabins, because I've never rented one. They look great though. Nice, clean RV park right next to the river. The only negative I could say would be the hours of operation for the office. Weird hours for a tourist spot?? This was our second time, and probably not our last. Very pleased.
We had a large group of family and friends come in to town for the weekend and the customer service was very accommodating. All the reservations went very smooth. We will definitely use the Rio Guadalupe again.
Campground was very clean and well organized. The on-site convenience store carries a good amount of basic stuff. The cabin and rooms were clean and the a.c. worked well. The staff does a good job of keeping non paying guests out of the area. The staff was helpful and answered any questions I had promptly.
