Clean. Peaceful. Friendly. Perfect location for a vacation getaway. While a 'just-passing-through' stay would be great, this place offers a swimming pool, spa tub, putting holes, shuffle board and all of Fredericksburg if your feet get itchy.
They have a variety of RV sites to accommodate size and type.
We can't wait to go back and stay another week!
Just got home from spending New Years weekend here. Amazing location, close to town. Amazing bathroom facilities. Very quiet and very easily accessible spots. We played the games up front and took some pics with the big chair! Can’t thank everyone here enough for a great stay, we will definitely be back!
Oakwood RV resort had absolutely everything we hoped for! From the minute we arrived, we were greeted by the staff who had the resort map already to go, along with some brochures for the surrounding area, to include all the amazing wineries within a few minutes drive.
Our primary reason for coming to the area was to hike Enchanted Rock, and while this may not have been the absolute closest RV Resort/Park to Enchanted Rock, it was only a 20 min drive through some really cool scenic areas, and didn’t seem far at all.
We stayed at Premium site 39, which was an easy pull through, extremely level and well kept with some strong lighting and a fire pit that had the ability to cook from. The sites seemed spacious, and allowed for plenty of privacy, yet we were able to say hello easily to our neighbors, and my 8yo son was able to find another boy to play with as well. They enjoyed using the shuffle board court, as well as the putting green to kill time between our off site adventures. The pool was open, but since it was 50 degrees for our trip, we will have to use it next time. But it was a large pool and looked extremely well kept.
Oakwood is also extremely pet friendly, providing areas for smaller dogs, as well as larger dogs. As long as your pet is behaved, and I don’t mean perfect, I think there was ample area for them to do their business, get some exercise, and enjoy time with you.
The bathrooms were the biggest surprise! After utilizing the secure entry code, the bathrooms rivaled that of a lot of hotels. Nice modern sinks, toilets, shower stalls! All of it in great order, and made for an easy trip to the shower after a long day of exploring.
If your plans include exploring the amazing town of Fredericksburg, the drive is about 5-6 minutes from the heart of Main Street, so easily traversed by either vehicle or bicycle.
All in all, a great little RV Resort, that what plenty to do for our short trip, or if you’re staying longer, will be a quiet little area to u wind when not out and about.
This was a very nice and well maintained park. The bathrooms and showers were super clean and very safe with coded keypads. Our site was 130 which is in a more wooded area. We had deer near our campsite at night while we were sitting around the campfire. The staff is very diligent about keeping the grounds clean, and it really shows. I especially loved the convenience of having our trash picked up every morning. It was also very convenient to town. I would definitely recommend this campground for its proximity to town, safety and beautiful grounds.
We arrived at the end of a hard freeze. Water was turned off as the maintenance crew worked diligently to restore water. Not a problem. We were able to fill our fresh water tank and continued to enjoy our camping experience. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Bathrooms were heated and very clean. Dog parks were nice for our pup. Trees everywhere and very well kept. We will return.
