Directions

5080 Purgatory Rd, New Braunfels (not located in NB city limits)

GPS may take you to the neighbor's gate! Our gate has HIPCAMP sign and address clearly marked.

If coming from the North we are on the left at 1.8 miles from Hwy 32, (.6 miles from stop sign at Hugo). When you see a "S" curve street sign, slow down and blinker because you will practically U turn into the next driveway at the S curve!

From the South it is about 4.5 miles. The driveway is right past Gruene Wood Works.

You will see two gates side by side. The neighbor's gate says "The Place". Mine is a silver gate with a HIPCAMP sign.

The gate is left open in the daytime and has a chain on it to close at night.

RVs are to the right of the fork (signage is there)

Tent spaces are to the left of the fork at the end of the caliche road.

The tent ready site is first and the Primitive Site is all the way down. Only one vehicle per site to drive past caliche road.

Text when you are close and I will be happy to meet you.

And let us know if you want a bundle of firewood waiting for you! (IF THERE IS NO BURN BAN!)

Very cool spot for drinks and food. Extensive beer selection and the burger of the month was fantastic!

I don’t remember our waitress name but she was on point! We really loved the food and the vibe of this place. Would highly recommend. The food was so good and so were the drinks! We sat outside as it was perfect weather! They have plenty of outdoor space with lots of fans and games you can play! There’s a pool table and a jenga blocks game.

We went for the New Year's Eve Pub Crawl. We didn't order any food here but the 1st round of drinks were good. We went to other locations on our Pub Crawl map and came back to Dot's for the countdown. The 2nd round of drinks were bad. Mine had no flavor. My husband ordered a Long Island Iced Tea and got some kind of lemonade. The DJ missed the countdown!!! At 12:01am a woman came over... Stopped the DJ, took the mic and announced "We're going to count from 10" and began a very unenthusiastic countdown... which ended in missed emotions of confusion and attitude of "why bother, you blew it" reaction from the handful of patrons that were in the patio area. There was no hype prior to midnight. Other venues I've been to, remind you every hour then prepare and start announcing the time every 10 minutes for the last hour. Dot's - I will go back. The patio area is huge and they had several heat lamps, the DJ was pretty good... but I will not do that Pub Crawl again.

I love a wide variety of beers and was amazed at their tap wall. I had one of my favorites the bomb, then tried a few new and unique goodies. 46 was a creamy pb jelly style, 58 was an outstanding hefe, and 78 the bomb. I loved the loaded fries! Can't wait to go back and keep trying the wall!

Warm atmosphere. Seemed a very safe environment mid afternoon Saturday. Owner and staff very welcoming and tolerant. Great for family celebrating. Parking across street. Delicious burger! Huge selection of brews. I didn't carefree the sweet potato tots, but that's a personal problem. 😋 😆
