We were going to visit Utopia and stopped over in Bandera. Looking for a room, Al’s popped up in our search and had nearly perfect reviews and was the least expensive. We stayed here two nights and would have moved here if possible. It’s well off the beaten path, has a wonderful atmosphere and is run by the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Gordon and his wife Jennifer have put their life into this place and it shows from the way they love it. 12 cabins, 10 RV slips, a swimming pool and just a good, wholesome atmosphere. Stay here and you won’t be disappointed.
First time staying in these cozy, comfy, very clean cabins located in beautiful hill country. There's plenty of well maintained grass area for any outdoor activities for the entire family. It's got a volleyball court and firepits/barbecue grills. Perfect for a romantic getaway or lodging for hunters, hikers, fishers, or spiritual seekers. The owners are present, taking care of the place, but won't bother your party. There's a small store in the premises stocked with most basic necessities, so you don't have to drive 30 minutes to buy drinks or firewood. A new building structure is underway. Looks like a pavilion or party room. Can't wait to come back in the summer.
We stayed three nights in our 5th wheel trailer. It's a nice small park with cabins and 10 pull-thru RV sites. The park is clean, and the sites are long and wide. The people are super nice and accommodating. There's a large grassy meadow on-site where our dog was able to run and play.
The place is quiet for the most part. There's a dog kennel or something with a lot of barking dogs very close to the park. It doesn't seem to be a problem at night. We can't blame the park for that.
With seclusion comes a curvy narrow county road with low-hanging trees. The park's exit road could use some work where it meets the paved road. We were able to negotiate the trees and the exit, just take it slow.
We enjoyed the park a lot and will plan another stay here if we are in the area.
Spent the first two nights of our anniversary getaway here. It was perfect! We had a cabin and it was super comfy. With the full kitchen we were able to fix breakfast before heading out on our adventures and that was a definite plus. The owners make you feel like family! It was truly an amazing place to stay! Well done! We’ll be back!
Little unnerving driving in from hwy 16, pretty far from the highway on a very narrow road. But it's well worth it I'm a 45 ft diesel pusher with a 20 ft trailer, made it in and out no worries. Met Gordon the owner, incredibly great man. The place is truly beautiful. We'll return, hopefully soon. Safe travels.
