Can’t say enough about this KOA. Just spent our third overnight stay there this year. Very friendly staff and well maintained campground. Level sites with good utilities. We definitely enjoy taking a break here while traveling through. Ample grounds to walk through with the puppies. Easy in and out with our Class A without having to unhook.
This KOA is very expensive. Over 90% of the sites are nothing but gravel, no grass, kind of like a big gravel parking lot with a bunch of trees. Half of the sites are not level and small. We had site 19 which was probably the best site in the park, it was level and large. The train is close so you hear it every now and then and it's pretty loud. There is a cemetery that looks to be on the grounds. We couldn't get satellite because it was heavily wooded. We paid $78.50 and that's with a 10% discount . For it not being in a destination location we thought the price of $85 was very high. Staff was nice. A few campers looked like they had been there for a while. The pool looked nice, we didn't use the restrooms.
Very friendly staff! I was traveling north on 95 and needed a place to sleep over night. I called and she gave me a very easy pull through site. Knowing I would not get there until well after dark. Very easy to get to off exit 17. I will stay here again. I absolutely recommend this KOA campground!
Overnight trip on my vacation to florida. The sites are clean and level. The first row of pull thru sites are pretty tight due to trees. But I was able to make it work.
My biggest issue was the after hours service. The campground does not take checks. You write your card # on an envelope basically like the honor system. When I called to get a reservation the lady said “just find a spot pull in and fill out the envelope for after hours check in” When I went to fill out the envelope there was a board with peoples reservations. Luckily I did not pick the site with a previous reservation otherwise it would’ve been a bad situation for myself and the person whose site I may have taken.
There has to be a better way to take these after hour reservations either via internet or she should’ve taken the reservation over the phone. Regardless, the bath house was clean and warm ( I stayed in Dec- it was 37 degrees and windy)
Plenty of room for my dog to have outside time on our trip and there’s a dog run as well.
There is a train that runs through. It is not nearly as dramatic as people on here describe it. It is tolerable.
Plenty of lighting and it felt very safe. Overall, a 4 star stay.
Overnight stop on our way to SC. Second stop and second stay and it was very nice. The site was roomy and level. The managing couple( unsure if owners)is excellent! Friendly and accommodating. We saw more campers coming in after us and there was plenty of room for all. The bathrooms were very clean. It is a nice park for sure. Will stay here again probably on our way back. Also, we love the train going by. It isn’t bad at all and fun to see.
