Great place to bring our 3 German Shepherds for a nice peaceful walk. Very clean and maintained. We love it and go often.

We stayed at the campground at the end of March 2023. The site we had was SO unlevel (116). There were alot of sites that were extremely unlevel. I would advise to drive through the campground before staying there or review recommendations from others. The other sites we liked were B42, B46, B50 and B51. The playground was nice and big which was my son's favorite thing to do. It was cold while we were there so we did not do any water activities other than fish. Definitely a park we would go back to. They have paddle boating, fishing, boating, archery, and biking/hiking trails.

One of the best parks to come visit in the Hampton Roads area. Well kept up, Park Rangers are visible. Many trials, large playgrounds for the kids can play. Many shelter’s for family gatherings for rent. Paddle boats and John boats are available for fishing. Really enjoyed my time here at this beautiful park. Located near Fort Eustis nice park. During Christmas they offer a light show for the family one of the best around. Did not disappoint. The trials are not handicap friendly but they have more than enough paved road to move around for wheelchairs, walkers, or anyone with mobility issues. Dog friendly, many restrooms around the park.

This is a beautiful park that has retained a lot of historical elements. [*See the Discovery Center] The wildlife is mostly hidden, but ever present. Occasionally, you might catch a glimpse of some deer. The trails are wonderful and extensive. I haven't used any of the equipment rental services, but they definitely have them available to enhance your outdoor experience. It's a great place for hikers/walkers, outdoor enthusiasts, families, or dog owners.

One of my favorite walking adventures. Trails all throughout and marked. Beautiful area year round. Play grounds are well kept with bathrooms near by. Absolutely love the holiday light festival. Autumn foliage does not disappoint.
