About Campground

Creekside Campground is a family-owned campground located in Edinburg, Virginia, in the heart of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Set alongside peaceful Stoney Creek, Creekside is perfect for fishing, wading or simply relaxing.

Creekside provides a wonderful experience while camping in the Shenandoah Valley. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Edinburg exemplifies the quaint, small town atmosphere of the Shenandoah Valley, where visitors can explore and enjoy many sites and activities in walking distance from the campground. The area also has a variety of attractions within a short driving distance.

Creekside Campground was built beside a submarine bridge near the 1817 Whissen Mill site. In the early 1800’s, a dam was constructed on Stoney Creek, providing power for a sawmill, carding machine and a boring mill for a rifle factory.

During the Civil War, Edinburg was a strategic point because of its location along the Valley Pike, near railways and the creek, which was used to ship iron for the Southern troops. Today, Edinburg remains a quaint town where visitors can explore and enjoy many sites. Regular activities are just walking distance from the campground.

I really liked this place. We had a site near the end of the small park. It was great. Right on the brook that ran through the whole campground and on the edge to the woods. There was not a lot to this place, only one strip of sites.

Very quiet, the loudest thing there were some wonderful ducks in the brook the next day in the brook.

There are not a lot of things here for kids, it is a site for adults. I will be going back if possible.

Stayed a couple nights in a tent, location is nice. It's close to a main road but quiet. Small campground, which is what I wanted. Very clean and peaceful. Bathrooms/showers are cleaned daily and kept up. We will be returning here, great location and very good price.

We camped here one night on our way back home to Florida so it wasn’t a vacation, just a pit stop. Beth was super helpful and friendly and even gave us a Good Sam discount even though they aren’t affiliated. She also attached stickers to our receipt which was super cute! It’s a small mom and pop place and a great value for what you get - a nice Creekside home for the night walking distance to town (not that we took advantage of it since we had plenty of food).

What a fantastic campground! We were going to stay 2 nights but ended up staying 4 we liked it so much! Definitely DO NOT follow GPS directions... Check their website for instructions as GPS takes you on a tiny one lane bridge with very tight turns. Streamside sites 13-20 had the most grass along the stream and I'd recommend those if you have a choice. The owners are lovely and seem like great people! In the area, we loved Muse vineyards which is only a few miles away and did a few hikes in the area. We will be back!

We love this gem of a campground along Stony Creek in Edinburg VA! Make sure you follow the instructions to get to the park as there is a 10 ton limit bridge if you go the wrong direction! We camped right next to a little waterfall that was so nice seeing and hearing during our stay! We would highly recommend this campground!
