From jct I-81 (exit 80) & US 52: Go 1/4 mi S on US 52.
Very easy access from I-81/I77 exit 80.
Large pull through sites, overnight or long term.
Very nice RV Park, also a Member of Good Sam.
Country setting with sheep in a nearby pasture and cattle across the field grazing.
I recommend this RV Park
Propane is also available.
This campground is a great value...priced very reasonably.
It is a very convenient to I81 and a Flying J right at the exit for campground.
Very popular stop over for heading north or south. Pull through sites are plentiful and easily accessible. Good hookups. Don't expect a high end resort, but for the price and convenience this place is great.
We stayed here for a overnight stop on our way North chasing the fall colors for the season. The park is very easy to get to from the interstate although your GPS may say it is on the right, when it is really on the left. Easy in and out park with a lot of room for big rigs to navigate. Check in was easy and quick and we were able to top off our propane here as well. The overnight pull through spots are easy to get into and offer a concrete pad for your rig. W/E/S hookups were provided and we had no issues with the W/E during our short overnight stay. They are really narrow so you will be up close and personal with your neighbors while you are here. There are other larger sites in the park that I am sure are used for longer stays. We would have preferred that for an overnight but we were there just for a night. This was a pretty nice park from what we seen while we were here and one we will visit again so we can check out more of the area.
We stayed one night on our way south. It was very convenient just off the I-81 and one exit south of the I-77. We booked the day of and there was lots of space available. Site was a pull through, level and long enough that we didn't have to unhook the toad. We have no idea what amenities are available as we were just passing through but there is a pool on site. Washrooms and showers were immaculate and freshly cleaned in the morning. We would have no issue staying for a couple of days and will keep this on our stop list when heading south. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.
I reserve my 5 star reviews for truly out of this world experiences, and this one is a SOLID 4. The park is mid sized, plenty of space but not crowded. Roads are easy to navigate, and spots are nice and wide with a mixture of shaded and unshaded spots, plus some concrete and some gravel. We did not get a chance to check out the HEATED pool, but they have one. The views from the site are astoundingly beautiful, and the sounds of nature and the passing cows are very peaceful and relaxing. All of the staff is super laid back, inviting, welcoming, and easy to work with. They maintain the grounds very well. We were there for 2 weeks and saw a constant rotation of mowing and upkeep, top notch. Water pressure was sufficient to not need our pump, and power was super stable. A lot of other reviewer mention this being a stop for them on a trip, and we did see a LOT of that during our stay, which is always fun to watch the different rigs come and go. Several mention being willing/wanting to stay longer, and I can say that it is worth it. While the park itself may not have much in the way of amenities beyond the pool and store, Natural Bridge State Park is close enough to go do in a day, and the Claw of the Dragon provides a TON of amazing scenic twisty roads. We did the Back of the Dragon and finished at their gift shop, along with a scenic drive by the Big Walker Lookout tower which I would also highly recommend. Only reason this isn't a 5 is because it is set up more as a transient park and is missing things like a fenced dog run, equipment rentals, trails, garbage pickup, etc. I wouldn't trade any of my pleasant experiences for these items though, the tranquility is what makes this place special.
