We had a great time in a great location! Quiet if you wanted quiet...fun things to do if you wanted activities! Service was great! We rented RV Site 402 and the Hilltop Cottage/Lodge and both were perfect for our families as well a close together. The campground was close enough to Staunton that we were able to enjoy an evening out to see a play at the American Shakespeare Theater on Saturday night! Overall this was a wonderful weekend!

We were there for 3 months, and we only enjoyed a month and a half out of the 3 months. They are under New Management now.👎🏻 I know that winter is a much slower time of camping,but...🏕

Their amenities ARE NOT the best, see only, maybe 2 ground workers, but the views and scenery are beautiful!! 💞 The ducks are awesomeness 🦆

This is a great campground! The staff/owners were so nice! We were going to be arriving after dark so we called to see when the office closed. They were going to be closed by the time we got there so they offered to come out and meet us when we got there and show us to our site! Luckily we were able to find it without getting them out in the cold but still, you can't beat service like that! The only issue we had was the sewer hook up on our site, 625, was not around the water and electric like usual but a good 20' towards the front of the site. Had to go buy an extension to reach it. Sad thing is we had plenty of hose - at home! Learned the lesson of "better to have and not need than need and not have " ;) Next time we will have extra just in case! The dog park was great and the campground was clean and well maintained. They even have laundry facilities! I would definitely recommend and God willing, we will be back!

Coming from Maine trying to get to Tennessee and needed somewhere to rest for one night. The lady I spoke to was so accommodating. And pleasant. This camp ground is amazing so clean and beautiful. I was able to do our Landry as we were right next to the Landry room. Clean also I would highly recommend Walnut hills campground to anyone!! Thank you Walnut 💕

Sharing a negative experience we had at Walnut Hills Campground is important to ensure others are aware of the issues we encountered. As full-time RVers for the past 8 months, we always made timely payments and took great care of our equipment while staying at this campground. Throughout our stay, we couldn't help but notice the frequent breakages and the overall poor management of the campground.

When we informed them of our departure, we took all necessary precautions, especially during the winter months. We disconnected the water hose each night so that it wouldn't freeze up and connected it back up the next morning. On the day of our departure, we made sure everything was clean and well-maintained before checking out.

To our surprise, four days later, we received a rather unpleasant email from the managers. She claimed that we hadn't taken care of the hydrant and that we didn't do the necessary maintenance every night. We were well aware that we had followed the steps each night. However, no inspection was conducted at the time of our departure. The manager insisted that an inspection had taken place and that it was our responsibility to cover the costs. When we called to discuss the situation and seek clarification, the manager was uncooperative and continued to blame us and cut off communication. To our dismay, she abruptly ended the conversation and proceeded to charge our card without our consent.

Later, the manager sent another email, this time with supposed "proof" of the hydrant's damage. However, it raised suspicion as she never inspected the area when we checked out, and there was no established protocol for checkouts, considering we were full-time RV residents. It became clear to us that this manager was simply trying to extort money from us.

It is crucial to be cautious of this campground as it has experienced frequent turnover in management, with new managers every few months. This lack of consistency leads to an undermanaged facility, where proper care and attention are not given. We strongly advise staying away from this place, as they will find ways to exploit guests for financial gain.
