We stayed here while we moved our son to Liberty University, which was an easy drive (30 min) to the campus. Our site was very nice with plenty of room for our truck and fifth wheel (40')
The staff welcomed us by name, took us to our site and just super nice the entire time. We will be staying here again in the future.
We stayed at this KOA for a couple of days and used it as a base camp. It was close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Natural Bridge State park. We stayed in a basic cabin. It had a Coffee maker, small refrigerator, microwave, and an a/c unit. The staff was very friendly and the cabin and grounds were clean and well maintained. The bathrooms were family style and mostly clean. I say mostly clean because while the bathroom facilities were clean there was mold on the inside of the shower curtains. That is the only reason I gave this a 4 instead of 5 star rating.
Attended the yearly Overland Rally 2-8 Oct near Lynchburg, VA. Had stayed at another KOA in the area last year and wasn't happy, so we decided to give this one a shot. Lets talk the good; friendly and I mean friendly staff. Very helpful. Bathhouse and laundry were clean as was our site. Overall, a great impression. Had zero T-Mobile coverage. Were told on check in the internet was satellite based, was slow, and would be hit or miss in the evening when everyone was trying to connect. Turned out to be the truth. It's also a good distance from anything. Nearest Walmart was 20-miles so stock up before hand. Some sites were tight, we were lucky and had quite a bit of space between us and our neighbors. Staff picked up trash each morning. On the fence as to whether we would stay again based solely on the weak wifi.
Had a very good time. WIFI worked good and my wife caught her first fish in their little catch and release pond. My only complaint would be that the toilet papers holders are too close to the toilet for broad shouldered people, but I can live with this. They are friendly and attentive. A little bit of a drive to any shopping or restaurants. Little to no cell service, which I enjoyed but some people may need to plan for that!
This was a wonderful getaway for the weekend. The staff is so friendly, Debbie was very kind and helpful getting us checked in and firewood for the campfire.
The site was very clean and well kept.
The restrooms near the front have a bit more room in their design but both areas were comfortable.
The cabin was perfect, it had a full size bed and a bunk bed. The mattress is more of a futon so if you're like me and like a little softer bed, would be a good idea to bring a topper or cushion.
We were their for the trick or treat and it was so fun to see all the kiddos dressed up.
Also their is a pie shop close by that has to be tried. So good!
The cabin was well insulated and sturdy against the elements. Highly recommend!
