I reserve my 5 star reviews for truly out of this world experiences, and this one is a SOLID 4. The park is mid sized, plenty of space but not crowded. Roads are easy to navigate, and spots are nice and wide with a mixture of shaded and unshaded spots, plus some concrete and some gravel. We did not get a chance to check out the HEATED pool, but they have one. The views from the site are astoundingly beautiful, and the sounds of nature and the passing cows are very peaceful and relaxing. All of the staff is super laid back, inviting, welcoming, and easy to work with. They maintain the grounds very well. We were there for 2 weeks and saw a constant rotation of mowing and upkeep, top notch. Water pressure was sufficient to not need our pump, and power was super stable. A lot of other reviewer mention this being a stop for them on a trip, and we did see a LOT of that during our stay, which is always fun to watch the different rigs come and go. Several mention being willing/wanting to stay longer, and I can say that it is worth it. While the park itself may not have much in the way of amenities beyond the pool and store, Natural Bridge State Park is close enough to go do in a day, and the Claw of the Dragon provides a TON of amazing scenic twisty roads. We did the Back of the Dragon and finished at their gift shop, along with a scenic drive by the Big Walker Lookout tower which I would also highly recommend. Only reason this isn't a 5 is because it is set up more as a transient park and is missing things like a fenced dog run, equipment rentals, trails, garbage pickup, etc. I wouldn't trade any of my pleasant experiences for these items though, the tranquility is what makes this place special. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.
