We were at Powder Horn shortly before they shut down for the year. Many amenities were not available but that was understood. What was very frustrating is that in addition to having very poor (unusable) Verizon service, we had NO usable park WiFi; even though it was promised. We reported this and were told the park would look into it but nothing happened during the five days we were there.
Stayed here for an extended weekend during the off season, so it was less busy and pretty quiet. Had a premium site. Sites were nice, level, and had plenty of space and are not crammed in like most RV parks these days.Lots of great amenities to keep the kiddos busy. The grounds were clean and very well kept. Staff were all very friendly. We travel alot and this was by far the nicest Campground we've stayed at! I read a lot of reviews complaining about wifi. In my experience no campground has perfect wifi but com'on people unplug and enjoy your surroundings! We did have our dog with us which I had no problem paying extra for. The only negative is that being a " family" campground I would think children are included in the price and I didn't love having to pay extra for my children to come along. Otherwise our stay was fantastic, really nice place and location was a short drive to the beach or groceries.
Fantastically over priced park. Yes, there is lots to do but if you can't get it done in your stay, you have over paid. This park cost me $150. Canadian for one night to write an amazing review on an over priced park with amazing included services.
My sister and I got there Friday, went to register our other family and friends coming for 1 night. I was told 2 tents plus our small camper on site just stay in our site. Takes lots of time to set up a tent in heat. We get all settled go to pool, phone rings the rudest person "you need to remove 1 of your tents" I was so upset, I was in middle of family event that she ruined! I said I'd just pay extra, put on my card on file. I hung up, she called me right back, That can't happen she said. You need to remove the tent now. Again, I was in the middle of event over at pool. My precious family time was ruined by wrong information and rude staff! I paid big money for frustrating time.
Would love to give this campground 5 stars, but the wi-fi being non existent is a huge negative. Having Verizon with my phone in the SOS mode, I actually had to find new phone service while staying there over a month. With that being said, the campground was so clean and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The sites are decent and the roads are paved. When the pools open they were very clean. Bathrooms were immaculate as well. We were here at the end of the season, so it was very quiet. Truly enjoyed my stay here, but not happy with a daily charge for dogs and wi-fi.
