Things to do

Whether it’s shopping, whale watching, boating or kayaking, you’ll find a wide array of outdoor activities within minutes of our location.

Directions

Moorings Oceanfront RV Resort is located off Route 1.

The best travel days for traveling to our location are Monday through Thursday. Fridays bring more traffic northbound, while Sundays bring more traffic southbound. Backups on the both the Interstate and toll booths also take longer during July and August.

While most of our guests enter the state via I-95 (the Maine Turnpike), some choose the more scenic coastal route. Directions for both are provided below, and the map above can also be used to print directions from your location.

Taking the Coastal Route

If you have the luxury of time, traveling on Route 1 is both scenic and enjoyable. We recommend that route if you have never experienced it.

If you choose to take this scenic coastal route, we are located on the water side of the street, approximately 2 miles north of the bridge in Belfast (northbound), and 4 miles south of Searsport Village (southbound). Please note that this route may take 30-90 minutes longer during the summer months, depending on where you enter Route 1.

Northbound, Taking the Maine Turnpike (I-95)

Moorings can be easily reached via the Maine Turnpike .

Once you pass through the Portland area, we suggest that you take I-295 toward Freeport, if your goal is to make the best time.

I-295 ends, forcing you to merge onto I-95, just before Augusta.

Take Exit #113 (Route 3) from I-95. This road leads directly into Belfast.

Shortly after entering Belfast, watch for the large green sign near the overpass, for Route 1. Take a left onto Route 1 North.

We are located approximately 2.5 miles away in East Belfast, on the right, about 1/4 mile beyond the Fireside Inn.

I would give Moorings RV Campground 6 stars if it were possible! We are new to RV camping. I can’t name all the people that helped us set up and do all the things before leaving. What a great bunch of people! I would highly recommend this Campground to anyone. I know that we will be back again this season. Thomas & Susan Lohnes

The staff was overwhelmingly rude and unwelcoming, and that was repeated over and over. We were the only family with kids there, and it was clear they did not want us there. Over 60 without kids? It’s still crowded and pricey, but go for it. Otherwise stay far away.

Excellent facility. Full 50 amps at all the sites as far as I could tell. Good, strong wifi even in the afternoon and evenings. Very laid back atmosphere. Quiet as a mouse come 8pm, seems most have turned in by then. Nice beach for walking. Grounds are well kept. Close to lovely downtown Belfast.

We spent the weekend here while attending the Common Ground Fair in Unity. The campground is beautifully maintained with a million dollar view of the bay. There is a small private beach area. The staff is excellent. We had a problem with a missing bolt on our sway bar. We went to the office for help. Stef came immediately to our aid and made sure we got on our way safely. Thank you.

Lovely little camping spot on the water. We had a waterfront site. It was a beautiful view everyday. I enjoyed walking along the water watching the birds and looking for snails. The campground is small with not many perks but it was just what we were looking for. Nice location too. My only complaint…some of the staff were not super friendly. They may need some training on how to interact with their guests. Thankfully we didn’t have much contact with them, but first impressions weren’t great. Overall, I would recommend a stay here and would return myself.
