The park can be reached from Blain by turning south from PA 274 at the east end of town, then go one-quarter-mile, turn right over the bridge. The park can also be reached from PA 274 west of New Germantown on Upper Buck Ridge Road.
Good area for hiking, but the tent campgrounds are terrible, in an open field with neighbours next to you. Parking lots are far from camp sites.
We have been to most of PA's stste parks. This one is very small, but decent. We would never say it is our favorite, but it has some charm. The hiking trails are basically the only feature here. So if you want things to do, go somewhere else. We enjoyed family time, short walks, and campfires. FWY, a very nice Amish guy near Blain on route 17 sells firewood.
Camped here this past weekend (7/25/23 - 7-27/23) and is a great little place to stay at. Site 12 was perfect for me being solo and not too close to other sites. All sites have 30 amp hookup, no water or sewer. They have a bathroom but no showers. If you have an RV, there is a dump station you can use.
There is also some nice trails, I was able to ride on the snowmobile trail which had nice grass openings you could relax at. Verizon does not have service here, but going far enough up the trail I was able to get a few bars to check in on family.
Probably the best part of the weekend was the camp host. Super nice and was interested in my Tesla towing setup. It was relieving to know people weren't judging me harshly based on the vehicle I'm towing with.
Will likely be coming back here in future!
