From Potters Mills, go east on US 322 for 1.5 miles to near the top of the Seven Mountains Scenic Area, then follow marked state forest roads for ten miles to Poe Valley. From Millheim, go west on PA Route 45 for 1.5 miles, then follow signs south for 12 miles to the park. There is no entirely paved road access to the park.
The campground had electric and very modern bathroom/shower facilities. Very clean and well maintained.
Very clean and small lake area. Hard to find, no signal going up the mountains. They have a concession stand we decent food and prices. Restrooms seem clean and the swimming lake is nice.
Our camping club, the TearJerkers, had a fantastic weekend at Poe Valley State Park despite a little bit of rain. The park is very well kept, and the campground bathrooms were emaculate! The heated floors really took the chill off! Park staff very friendly and the playground near the beach area was very nice. We're looking forward to returning!
Great out of the way state park. If you want to unplug and unwind this is the place. The views are amazing if you want to drive on the mountain roads. Added bonus for fly fishers it's only 3 miles from Penns Creek. Looking forward to scheduling a trip for the green drake hatch.
