The hiking trails are shorter but there are several, both paved and natural. Several park areas, picnic tables and a nature center.
Beautiful state park. Super clean bathrooms. Friendly staff. The camp ground are so nice and secluded with an outhouse which to my surprise was very clean. I love the set up of each camp spot and all the beautiful nature around. This was our first time camping and it was awesome.
There's a $5 fee to park at the Archery Center location, but there is ample parking. Activities include archery practice in the designated area, picnicking at the covered picnic area, fishing at the lake, hiking, biking and running the paved trails, or exploring the unpaved trails. If you have the energy to go the distance, you can travel the paved trails all the way to the South River trails. There are restrooms in the parking area; the ladies' room smelled as though it had been freshly cleaned when I visited.
Pro Tip: State Park parking passes are available to check out for seven days at the library.
I visited the park with my kids, and I was pleasantly surprised. It's like a hidden gem. The park is beautiful, quiet and clean. There is a playground, restrooms, lots of picnic areas, gym area, trails, etc. My kids love it and want me to take them back every day.
There is also a park fee. You have the option of doing a daily pass for $5 or an annual pass for $50 with various ways of paying.
