Located high atop the Catoctin Mountains (“the land of many deer”) in Frederick County, Maryland, we are centrally located between many historical landmarks and Area Attractions. For those looking for something to do, view our schedule of activities. There’s fun for the whole family! If it’s raining, come inside to play in the game room or look through our lending library of movies, books, and games. For outdoor enthusiasts, enjoy walks on our scenic nature trails or try to land a fish in our pond or mountain stream. Campfires and S’mores are always a hit! If you forget something at home, check out our camp store! You may even find a souvenir to take home to remember your stay.
Located just 25 miles north of Frederick, MD. Take US 15 North, 18 miles to Thurmont, MD. Exit onto Route 77, West. Follow Route 77 three miles to Catoctin Hollow Road. Turn left onto Catoctin Hollow Road and travel 3 miles. Turn right onto Mink Farm Road. Travel 1½ miles to entrance on the right. From Washington:Take I-495 around Washington to 270 West to Frederick, MD. Follow directions from Frederick.
Such a wonderful place. Found this campground with excellent cabins a few years back when searching for a getaway we could do after covid. Everytime we are there the hosts are very welcoming, everything is clean and well set up, the campground itself it a beautiful and relaxing place. We have been several times in different seasons and have always enjoyed it. A great place for family or just a getaway weekend with my husband. Thank you for a great place to stay!
This is an adorable camping area. The cabin in which we stayed was updated, clean and well stocked with firewood. The hosts were very pleasant. Our only objection was the "bring your own sheets and towels" policy which we've never before encountered. Despite this we had a wonderful time and would recommend.
My family had a wonderful experience at Ole Mink! Our cabin was clean and welcoming, and very well equipped for everything we needed in terms of meal prep and supplies, and the location was beautiful and convenient to great trails in the state and national parks (just minutes away). Our dogs also enjoyed the trails on the Ole Mink property, and our kids loved the playground. Highly recommend for a family getaway.
We had a lovely weekend in the Phenix cabin. Everything we needed was provided - coffee, tea, fully appointed kitchen, firewood, starter, kindling. So cozy and comfortable. You have to bring your own sheets and towels. Not a problem. We left a pair of earrings, and they reached out to get them back to us. Nicely run place.
I Absolutely LOVE this place!! Such an awesome variety of cabins to choose from and the perfect serene location! I love everything about the cabins!! Not only do they each have all the basics that we need ie: fully equipped kitchens (even a cute little personal bottle of dish soap and a sponge), they are all unique in their own way. The owners and the other family members who I have met over the years are always so accommodating and friendly! They go above and beyond and are always very approachable if and when something is needed. They are always happy to answer any questions that we have and even make helpful suggestions.
They provided hand towels, paper towels and toilet paper. They do very clearly ask that you bring your own bed sheets BUT even offer a package of bed sheets if needed.
I wish I could adequately express my feelings! The whole place gives me such Peace and Joy!! I cannot wait to go back!! I look forward to it every year! I have gone in the winter which of course means we take full advantage of the beautiful fireplaces. I would love to go at other times of the year too...we will see.
To top it off, they gave us Homemade cookies when we arrived!! They are So sweet and thoughtful!! The cookies were some of the best cookies I have ever had!!

...how could I forget, the Bed was surprisingly Super Comfortable!!! Makes all the difference!!!
