Come pitch your tent(s) or bring your camper/RV/van to the private, scenic farmette known as Prancing Deer. Enjoy herds of up to 25 deer at dawn and twilight, as well as foxes, eagles, turtles, frogs, fireflies, egrets, and an assortment of colorful birds. Located in Warwick, Maryland, the farm is about 10 minutes away from Middletown, Delaware where you can find shopping, dining, and events. Also the farm is a short driving distance to the Bohemia River and the Chesapeake Bay. A stay at Prancing Deer is ideal for people looking for a tranquil experience with little to no amenities, although we do have an electricity hook-up available (20 amp, 30 amp, 50 amp available). With 7.5 acres, you will have total privacy from the outside world.
Please note: The woods and adjacent properties are privately owned. Please do not trespass - stay within the field. If you use the light at the electricity station, please make sure it is turned off before you leave. This is an active feed grass field and a fire could put the crop in jeopardy. Prancing Deer Farm is a beautiful diy venue! My wedding was planned in about two months and Kelly was very helpful!! She provided an amazing list of recommendations for everything else I’d need for my special day! I had a lot of questions about rentals and space and they were always answered in a timely manner! And I absolutely loved the hollow! Some of my favorite wedding photos are from it!
Kelly at Prancing Deer was a dream to work with. The setting itself was gorgeous, the pricing was amazing, and the archway and chairs they provided made the ceremony feel intimate and fairytale like. Considering that we planned the wedding in under three months there were no issues and Prancing Deer was a large part of that. (Elvis wasn't included, that was all us 😜)
Due to the pandemic, my (now) husband and I needed to change our original plans for our April 2021 wedding. We postponed our "big" celebration but still wanted to keep our anniversary date so I contacted Kelly at Prancing Deer who was very quick to help us imagine our "micro-wedding". The flexibility in schedule and cost of rental was completely worth it. Kelly's professional attitude and helpful demeanor made our process so much more smooth. Highly recommend for any celebration!
I am so happy that I utilized this venue, the place was gorgeous! We had our wedding on 10/15/22 and it couldn’t have been more perfect. It was super convenient to have the spot all weekend so that we had plenty of time to setup and cleanup without feeling rushed or worried during the wedding. The price was also excellent. Kelly was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was super responsive and helpful. We also utilized the fire pits which were a huge hit at the wedding. Highly recommend!
