Take NM 96 to FR 103. Travel FR103 for 13 miles to Campground.
We thought we would never find this place . It looked as if it had never been used . My wife flipped when we turned into the campground and a LARGE mountain lion took off carrying a dead beaver ! She would not get out of the truck ! So much for Rio Puerco Campground ! Maybe O.K.with a better 4 wheel drive and high powered rifle ! We only had a 9mm pistol ! Good luck ! Sleep with one eye open !
Bathroom needs to be cleaned but otherwise it is an amazing place to camp out. No trash cans so pack out your trash but such a beautiful and serene place to be. Also be careful of wildlife we had somthing large brush up on our tent last night.
Amazing but don't follow Google's directions keep going down the main road and it should re route you, but overall amazing drops to about 40 at night so bundle up, but overall beautiful!
Super nice secluded area! It’s far from everything so bring all the food/water you need! The creek is full enough to use a water filter system. The campsites are close to car parking so no hiking needed to unload the car.
