Dispersed camp sites are located along most secondary roads and may not be marked. Popular locations can be recognized by the telltale flat disturbed area that has been used as a camp site before. Not all flat spots are sites. If possible, please use existing sites to avoid creating new disturbances. To further protect your public lands, campers must not dispose of any refuse, hazardous materials, sewage, or in any manner pollute the surrounding area.
States may have additional requirements or restrictions for dispersed camping. Please see Regional Information before planning your trip.
It's a very nice friendly place. People lease the lots here but when some are gone for a while they do let you like rent spots. The first week is only $50 plus electricity if you have never stayed here before. Most lots are pretty big. They have a spot for trailers etc, you can go 4 wheeling right from here out into the desert. If you come around here make sure to go to the carlsbad caverns, they are awesome! ! You do have to be a escapes member to stay here. Oh we did end up having to move spots twice because people came back earlier than planned but not a real big deal. We stayed longer than planned because it is nice & the weather is great in November! Not much for kids to do here.
