Awesome campground and facilities, I have stayed there 2 or 3 times over the years for the Red River Memorial Day motorcycle rally and once with my family. After I left the 2023 rally I immediately made my reservations for next year so I could get a premium spot. A couple of weeks after I got home I found out that the town cancelled all future rallies and to my dismay the owners made very little effort to help me reschedule my trip and they charged a $50 cancellation fee. I understand that rules are there for a reason but they could of made more of a effort, especially with extenuating circumstances surrounding the cancellation of the rally.
Posting so someone doesn’t make the same mistake as me. The monthly rate is for 30 days, So if you book a month that has 31 days make sure you add the extra day. It is stated on their website, I just missed it. The park and the host have been great. Unfortunately the site was already booked for that night. They did offer to move us to another site for the night. But it was easier to add a night to the first leg of our journey home.
This is our second year in a row to visit, we waited a little long to book and weren’t able to book the spot we wanted. The premium spots are definitely worth it but there’s not a bad spot in the whole park. The store up front is a big bonus and everyone here have been very friendly. The town of Red River is one of our favorites around here, the surrounding areas are nice but if you’re looking to relax then Red River is the place.
The park was very secure. There was a gate for entering and exiting and the park was very quiet during quiet hours.
The spaces are very tight for larger rigs. We were told our 38' toyhauler would fit with no problem. The camp host didn't escort us to our sight, and we had difficulty fitting into our spot so as not be in the road, able to open our slides or having our sewer hose next to our neighbor's picnic table.
Vehicle & ATV parking was an issue. Your vehicle needed to be parked in the parking lot for ATV trailer parking (1/8 mile away from our site) and there was a $5 daily charge for parking your ATV near your site. When we said we would be parking our ATV in our toy hauler, we were told the $5 fee was for entering/exiting the park, which they waived for us, since we were trying to make since of the situation. Our friends paid $5 each day to leave the park in their ATV.
People were squeezing their vehicles near their campers making it very difficult to enter and exit the park with the larger rigs.
Be sure to read all rules and regulations before renting a spot, as there are no refunds. Once you are there and not happy, you are there for the duration of your stay.
