Had a wonderful one-night stay in the Lavender. I loved that this unit was the farthest unit which gave you more privacy and quiet, though I do wish the units were spread out a bit more since noise carries so easily.

The details and amenities did not go unnoticed - they exceeded my expectations. Not only was the kitchen fully stocked with everything you might need for a getaway, they had a complimentary bottle of wine, bottled water, coffee and merch for you to take home! The internet also worked perfectly!

The decor is tastefully done and well executed. The bedding was comfortable and pillows were plentiful. The location also can’t be beat- just a short drive into Johnson City.

I also used the barrel tub early in the morning and it was fantastic. Quiet, alone, perfect temp! Definitely recommend.

There are a few things I would recommended improving on, if possible.

The unit was clean except the trash can was almost still completely full.

Since there is no ceiling on the bathroom and the walls only extend so high, once lights are out and someone is in the restroom, a perfect TV like reflection is placed on the sunlight above. If I were with anyone besides a significant other, it may have been an issue. You can see the toilet, shower - everything very clearly. Note - this did not bother me but I could see an issue with others.

The AC was running at around 70 when we checked in but it wasn’t blowing very much at all. The fan speed was at max and you could see a little bit of ice. In the middle of the night, there was a very loud crunching sound and it dropped a lot of ice and water onto the nightstand. After that, it ran and blew perfectly. I’m sure the fluctuation in outside temps that day caused the unit to freeze over. Not sure how this is resolved in a yurt with little temp protection or insulation. The standup rotating fan was also a nice addition at night!

Overall, I had a fantastic experience. I would definitely return.

Our family drove in from Austin for an overnight getaway after a fun filled day at Blanco State Park. Johnny Yurts was warm and welcoming right from the start with easy to follow instructions, convenient parking, beautiful interior decor, comfortable bedding, cool air conditioning, great appliances (the cutest little dishwasher I’ve ever seen), they thought of it all!

We loved the soaking tub. We were lucky enough to have clear skies with a stunning view of the Milky Way, on this particular night we caught the Perseid Meteor shower while relaxing in the hot tub. They even left a nice bottle of local wine and cold water stocked for us, and the complimentary merch was so cool!

It was a bit windy the night of our stay, you may hear the yurt blowing in the breeze on windier evenings. The room is equipped with a white noise machine to help drown out your neighbors and such. I suggest earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.

Overall we had a great stay. A perfect idea for a large group rental as you’re able to book multiple rooms at a time. We will definitely be back! Thanks for the perfect getaway! :)

A group of us booked a Johnny Yurt for a relaxing bachelorette glamping weekend, and it was the perfect choice! Modern tech meets Texas hill country. The yurts were thoughtfully staged, and while it was too cold to use the pools, it would definitely be a good summertime amenity. Our AC malfunctioned the first night, but the owner sent their repairman very promptly and we were comfortable the rest of the trip. The yurts are very close to Pedernales Falls State Park and Johnson City. Overall, we loved it!

Johnny Yurts was a nice experience and we had plenty of space to ourselves when we booked. There were only two other yurts taken other than ours and our friends next to us. This was definitely a luxury because we didn't have to worry about sharing the bonfire or the hot tub with any strangers. I'm not sure if it would be as fun if all the yurts were taken because the hot tub and the bonfire itself are smaller in size compared to other places we stayed. However, this review is based on our experience and we had a great one. The water to our friends yurt was freezing cold, BUT the owner was super quick to respond and let our friends transfer to another yurt that had hot water. We loved the yurts and the amount of space inside of them. The only downside I would say to the location is that you are still in earshot of the main road and we even heard sirens at one point. You can also see homes all around the property and hear dogs barking throughout the night from one of the nearby homes. So, if you're looking for a spot to feel completely isolated from anything - this isn't quite it, but it does work for a quick weekend getaway! Overall, we had a lot of fun just relaxing and cooking over the fire. We will probably return at some point and the complimentary hats & bottles of wine were a super cool touch.

Cute, comfortable, cozy, clean... the self check-in was very convenient, and I love the keypad locks, so we didn't have to worry about lost keys or keycards. Not too far off the main highway. You could still hear the traffic, which was comforting to me. The hot tub was a definite bonus.
