Disclaimer: Pre-stay review.
My family and I had a trip planned in October to stay at Lost Lagoon. Our friends have previously stayed there and absolutely loved it. Due to unforeseen circumstances, my family and I had to cancel our trip and reschedule for a later date.
Mrs Peggy with Lost Lagoon was absolutely phenomenal in working with me and giving me some time to figure out what was best for my family. Reservation process was a breeze online (a lot of reading, but I understand why). When it came to rebooking, Mrs Peggy informed me there would be a $25 rebooking fee (which is EXTREMELY reasonable and understandable). She also informed me that with my reservation going across to the next calendar year, there is a price increase unless I booked it prior to January. This price increase was minuscule compared to other places and was completely reasonable.
Overall I would say the process has been amazing. Between ease of booking, simplicity of rebooking, the respectful staff that I interacted with (Katy and Peggy). With my current knowledge of the place, I would definitely recommend this as a vacation destination.
I will update after my stay, but with my current experience, I only see it staying 5 stars and getting better reviews. Pictures to come after my stay.
Came here this weekend to see Corey Morrow and Kevin Fowler perform with my family and had so much fun! The park is very clean and the people that come here are friendly. Despite how busy it was, the staff was super nice and helpful. The bartender Dj was great to us!! This was my first time coming here, but will definitely be back!
My family and I have stayed here a few times and we have enjoyed it. They really take pride in their RV park. The employees from the front desk to pool/lawn maintenance, they seem to enjoy their job.
It's a little unlevel on some of the RV spots so bring extra blocks. Also, I suggest water shoes for the pool. I don't have sensitive feet but 1 full day at the pool will leave you with some upset feet. We stayed 4 days and the skin on the bottom of my toes is feeling it.
As far as the pool goes, it would have been nice to have been told that there was a school field trip of kids that came to the pool. They have plenty of room to block off the lagoon and the other new pool but instead had them in the main pool area which was a little crazy. We figured out what time they were leaving and decided to leave the pool and come back later that evening.
The pools are kept clean and in good shape. Can't wait to come back when the slides are completed.
Thanks again.
Be patient with me. It’s worth reading this……We stayed at Lost Lagoon in El Campo, Texas, November 20th through the 25th of December. We received off season rates which were very reasonable. Knowing it was “off season”, I checked when I made the reservations to made sure all the amenities would be available. Restaurant, 2 bars, pool, hot tub, lazy river, game room, fitness center and an obstacle course. I specifically asked if everything was available and open. She told me the only thing that wasn’t, was the obstacle course and the pool and lazy weren’t heated. We were fine with that, as we’re a couple of 60ish people lolol. It was a beautifully well kept resort. They boast the largest pool in the world. No doubt it’s right up there. We booked this specifically for the lazy river and hot tub.
Now starts our nightmare….first we had to ask them to turn on the hot tub and the jets were never turned on. So we couldn’t spontaneously go to sit in the tub , as it took at least 2 hours to heat up. The lazy river was not flowing at all. You shouldn’t have to paddle on a relaxing lazy river. Ohh wait!!!!, the saga continues……10 days into our stay, without warning, they started draining the pool, hot tub and lazy river. It was all drained in 1 day. Then the construction started, again without warning. As an aside, we had to turn on a breaker and plug in any machine we wanted to use in the fitness room……..ok back to the pool etc. it was completely demolished. So our remaining 3 weeks had ZERO amenities. We asked about a discount and/or refund and they denied both. So we were stuck, not wanting to lose our money, and didn’t have anything booked if we wanted to leave early. The refundable $100 deposit was not issued until 25 days after check out . We aren’t angry people and didn’t get mad or upset when we were still at the resort. We felt that writing this review was the best way to handle our frustration and let other RVer’s know how we were treated, at what could have been, a wonderful experience.
I came here 1 time 2 years ago, so this may be outdated.
Anyways, We stayed 2 nights in the first cottage. Adults, don’t go to the loft. It’s built for kids. It was very clean but internet is not good. Still, you can have lots of fun in the cottages. There were people being extremely loud at night, but I’m pretty sure staff stopped them. The waterpark was amazing. When I went to the waterpark first it was lightly raining so there were like no one there. Rope swing is great! Slides are great but they are all short and I would recommend 1 very large one. Lazy river was great. I love the walk in pool that goes to 7 feet deep! It’s a great idea. I think there needs to be more seating. It felt crowded later. The Wibit course is so much fun. There needs to again be more seating. It’s a great paid for feature. Life jackets are smart, because safety first!
