Great primative style state park. We came here on a boy scout campout for two nights. Lots of trails that are natural/ ungroomed through this old ranch. Gayle at park headquarters in an angel flying too close to the ground. We'll definately be back.

THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO WATCH THE SOLAR ECLIPSE.

I was in the state park on Saturday, October 14th for the annular eclipse and look forward to April 2024 for the total solar eclipse.

Reservations for parking are available online. I recommend walking to the West Peak Overlook trail, which is a challenging climb but totally worth it as you sit on the bench at 1,850 feet elevation gazing out into the Texas Hill Country.

Great park to hike. Thought it would be too easy but it wasn't, liked the hills. Like to go off trails and this place was exceptional

Really nice park! Lots of trails to take of various skill levels. Would recommend not going on a hot day as there is little shade on the trails. Nice views. Make sure to bring bug spray and might want to wear pants as there were areas not well cleared and some pokeys along the way.

This SNA one of my favorite areas for walking the trails. Spectacular panoramic views from the loop at the top of the west peak overlook trail. We also enjoy the spring branch and wilderness trails and the trails in the lowlands area (bar-o, prarie, pasture trails, etc). Never too crowded and nice to see those on horseback.
