Be patient with me. It’s worth reading this……We stayed at Lost Lagoon in El Campo, Texas, November 20th through the 25th of December. We received off season rates which were very reasonable. Knowing it was “off season”, I checked when I made the reservations to made sure all the amenities would be available. Restaurant, 2 bars, pool, hot tub, lazy river, game room, fitness center and an obstacle course. I specifically asked if everything was available and open. She told me the only thing that wasn’t, was the obstacle course and the pool and lazy weren’t heated. We were fine with that, as we’re a couple of 60ish people lolol. It was a beautifully well kept resort. They boast the largest pool in the world. No doubt it’s right up there. We booked this specifically for the lazy river and hot tub.

Now starts our nightmare….first we had to ask them to turn on the hot tub and the jets were never turned on. So we couldn’t spontaneously go to sit in the tub , as it took at least 2 hours to heat up. The lazy river was not flowing at all. You shouldn’t have to paddle on a relaxing lazy river. Ohh wait!!!!, the saga continues……10 days into our stay, without warning, they started draining the pool, hot tub and lazy river. It was all drained in 1 day. Then the construction started, again without warning. As an aside, we had to turn on a breaker and plug in any machine we wanted to use in the fitness room……..ok back to the pool etc. it was completely demolished. So our remaining 3 weeks had ZERO amenities. We asked about a discount and/or refund and they denied both. So we were stuck, not wanting to lose our money, and didn’t have anything booked if we wanted to leave early. The refundable $100 deposit was not issued until 25 days after check out . We aren’t angry people and didn’t get mad or upset when we were still at the resort. We felt that writing this review was the best way to handle our frustration and let other RVer’s know how we were treated, at what could have been, a wonderful experience.
