This is a little island where you can go fishing, boating with your family and friends. You can enjoy the wide view from the overlook. Parking will be closed at sunset time and it is free. I loved the place.
Nice place for boating and fishing, not so much for hiking. There are some trails, all paved though. No natural trails.
Peaceful, lots of trees along the shore to hang our hammocks up - very nice. Although, the signs could use a bit more detail to help identify where you are and where everything is. It was surprisingly crowded. Still a great time!
Beautiful 14 acre island park which is adjacent to McDowell Nature Preserve. I visited on Sunday morning and it was very quiet. Handful of people were fishing or kayaking. As I was leaving, vehicles hauling boats were parking. If you enjoy fishing, walking or running, I recommend this place.
Beautiful park to go on Lake Wylie. There lots of places to take pics by the lake and surrounding areas. It’s not too crowded and I liked how peaceful and quiet is to relax and enjoy the outdoors. There are picnic tables and people like fishing as well. Across from Copperhead Island you can see McDowell Nature Preserve. Highly recommend it to come and visit!
