Whippoorwill Campground and Arena is any Equestrian home away from home! Whippoorwill Campground and Whippoorwill Arena are located in the heart of Eastern North Carolina, on the county line of Onslow County and Duplin County. Our facility offers everything in one location! Whippoorwill Campground has miles of trails specially maintained for equestrians.
Our trails have been built in a fashion that you can make it a short 45-minute ride or hours long. Due to our location, our trails are soft and sandy and most horses do not require shoes to enjoy our trails. Enjoy a nice trail ride around our fishing pond and then let your horse take a dip in our pond that was created with our mounts in mind!
Our facility is also perfect for those that have family members that may not be into riding and enjoy camping and fishing.
Whippoorwill Campground offers a huge parking area, easy-to-access water, and public bathrooms. If you are camping we offer Electric and water hookups, or full hookups with sewer.
Our facility is perfect for many events ranging from Horse shows, Gaming Shows, Fun Shows, Clinics, Tack Swaps, and Renaissance Fairs to weddings, reunions, 4-H & Scout Campouts, banquets and so much more!
Just a cheap trailer park with drunk residents. Bathrooms barely have light, soap dispenser just has water in it and hardly any toilet paper. No mens bathroom guess you just gotta pop a squat outside. Beer cans and trash all over the trails. You can fish but have to release them even though you paid to fish. Using the word "camp ground" to call this place is a stretch.
Had the best time ! Took my son with me, he was so excited. Beautiful trails and horses! Guide was very nice and kept us on track. We got to ride through a pond. This was my son's favorite part. Would totally go again! Recommend anyone looking for a relaxing good time to go here.
Great place to enjoy the country in a convenient location just outside Jacksonville. You can fish in the many lakes have a picnic or camp on the site. With bathhouses and swimming lakes your sure to have fun. You can even rent horse for a nice leisure ride through the 600 acres of woods and farm land.
We have been riding here and the trails are great. We had a lot of fun and there weren't many bugs when we went. The trails were clearly marked and well maintained. We can't wait to come back and ride again.
We have also come for a few of the local shows they have held here and had a ton of fun.
Recently I decorated for a fall wedding here. Affordable location, there was plenty of parking and all decorated this place was gorgeous inside. They have restrooms and a beautiful outdoor open field for ceremonies.
I love this place. It's affordable and friendly. It's beautiful and spacious. I ended up staying about a month in a camper and everyone was nothing but kind, friendly, helpful, and hospitable to me. My dogs absolutely loved it there. Honestly thinking of buying a camper and seeing what my options are long term renting a spot at the campground. Regardless of long term or short term, I will definitely be coming back to stay hopefully time and time again. This place is a little slice of paradise!
