It is located at the junction of Highway 108 and Kennedy Meadow Road, about 27 miles from the Summit Ranger Station. There are 44 sites with a few doubles and 2 walk-in sites. The main road is paved; parking pads are dirt-surfaced. Each site has a table and a fire ring. Hydrants serve several sites as a water source. Toilets are vault-style. Fee charged for extra vehicle parking.
29 miles east of Pinecrest off Highway 108 on Kennedy Meadow Road, near Deadman Campground and Kennedy Meadow Trailhead.
The scenery is beautiful, but the host was awful, very rude, yelling at the children because they were playing soccer in an empty camp site, complaining that they would mess it up and nobody would want to use it. Yelled a friends, talking down to them, very unpleasant experience with this gentleman. Other than this man driving by to check on us if we were behaving, everything breathtaking!😊
Absolutely excellent campground right on river with super nice campground host couple. Kennedy Meadows Genetal Store is just an easy mile up the road. Middle fork 8f the Stanislaus River is beautiful here, and I bathed in it every day. Fills up on weekends. Dead Man's campground just up the road maybe slightly nicer, but more competition there.
Great place to camp with family in the summer! Fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and beautiful views.
