We have been campers since I was a teen and stayed here for summers at a time. Since growing and having my own family, we have been coming back for 13 years. and are now a seasonal camper.
No sand anywhere, just crushed sharp granite. I bet the rock was prettier before it was crushed and dumped there. Hurt my feet and knees in my tent. Ground is not suitable for a tent. Fire ring really cheesy too. Tent sites pathetically small and crammed together. No privacy at all. Seemed more like a retirement home than a place for family and friends to enjoy the great outdoors of Maine. I grew up here and can guide you to beautiful places. Enjoy this states natural wonders and be one with all creatures. Be fun and happy all. Love you all.
We camped in a tent at one of the sites! They keep the bath house and bathroom unit very clean, it’s an awesome space to use. It’s quiet and full of families and kids! We stayed there to go to Acadia, but it was a good central location, close to a grocery store and other food places. The staff was super friendly and treated us with respect!
This is a really nice campground that is well kept and has a very friendly staff and clientele. We’ve enjoyed visiting family here several times. The food at the outdoor cafe is really good and affordable. We look forward to out next visit!
We stayed at Balsam Cove for 3 months this Summer. We thoroughly enjoyed the campground while we were there. We had site 90, and I personally believe it's the best site there. Thanks to the trees there's plenty of privacy, and the park was quiet during the week. The events they had were a lot of fun, and the kids that were there truly enjoy the campground as well.
