The “ironworks” is not restored and no plaque explains anything about it. The park itself is rather run-down, picnic tables were rotting and several benches had rotted away. hiking is limited and the creek was dry. On the upside, it was peaceful and the cabins and restored structures were nice.

We stayed one night at this little park. It wasn't the best campground I have been to, but it wasn't the worst either. It was exceptionally peaceful and quiet (bonus points!), the staff seemed nice and helpful, and for how small it is, it had it's share of nature and beauty. We found the furnace really neat, and we would have loved more back story! They have it lit up at night which was very pretty. The campsites are few, and some are very small, so be prepared for that. They don't accept reservations which had us a little worried, but it seems (based on the staff) they rarely fill up, so I imagine the need has never really been there. No one cleaned up our site from the previous camper (whenever it may have been). There was trash left at the site and in the fire pit. Sadly, not all campers are decent people, and there is absolutely no good reason to leave your trash! But I would have expected staff to clean the sites, too. It would have been better were there fewer, or at least more appropriately placed, street lights, as we didn't realize when we had set up that our site would be bathed in a streetlight that night. It made sleep rather difficult, and the whole family thought it was too bright. Lights set up at the laundry, showers, and restrooms makes sense, but beyond that, we came to camp and experience nature, not city street lights. Overall, this place is decent and worth a shot. I wouldn't be against staying there again. But it wouldn't be more than a night or two as there really isn't much to do or see in or around the park.

Additonal Warning: if you enter the park coming from the backroads as opposed to the larger highways, just be aware that you may think you've taken a wrong turn somewhere. We came up through a road that seemed less like a road and more like a half-paved driveway. We honestly thought we weren't headed the correct direction and may have been trespassing on someone's property! But all at once, we came to a slightly more lovely paved area, and then were just at the park. Leaving the main direction, it looked *much* nicer and more what we expected.

Very nice and very quiet. They have a swimming pool, and playground for the kids. The campgrounds have full hookup and they also have some with water and power only. Great place to just relax.
